Buckle Up for ‘Rebel Moon’: Netflix’s Epic TV Series in the Making
Zack Snyder’s ambitious vision for Rebel Moon extends beyond the upcoming film, as he hints at a potential expansion into a Star Wars-like universe on Netflix.
In a recent interview with Empire magazine, the renowned director revealed ongoing discussions for a sequel and a TV series, confirming that both parts of the film have already been greenlit.
Snyder emphasized the scale of the project, highlighting Netflix’s enthusiasm for its vast potential. “When I pitched it to Netflix, the scale was a thing they wanted,” he explained. “They were like, ‘Well, how big could it be? How many movies?’ That made me go, ‘Okay, if we really do this, we can sink our teeth pretty deep into this. We can’t really hit the bottom’.”
Furthermore, Snyder hinted at the possibility of an extended cut that could serve as a bridge between the two parts of the film series. Co-producer Deborah Snyder shared that part one was given room to breathe, and they are exploring other projects to connect the releases. Additionally, Snyder suggested that an extended, more adult version of the film may also be in the works.
As fans eagerly anticipate Rebel Moon, it seems that Snyder’s vision for the project extends beyond a standalone film, potentially paving the way for an expansive universe within the Netflix platform.
