Unveiling Set Secretsm Timothee Chalamet’s Journey with the Ill-Fated ‘Barbie’ Cameo
Timothee Chalamet discussed his intended ‘Barbie’ cameo during an appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.’
The 27-year-old actor, promoting his new movie ‘Wonka,’ revealed that the cameo was initially envisioned for him and his ‘Lady Bird’ and ‘Little Women’ co-star Saoirse Ronan.
Chalamet humorously shared, “There was an idea for Saoirse Ronan and I to do a cameo in it. I don’t know what the cameo would have been. I think it would have been one of the rejected Kens or Barbies. Not Allan, but something. Maybe there was a rejected French one.”
Initially considering it just an idea, Chalamet later discussed the role with ‘Wonka’ director Greta Gerwig. He mentioned that when he finished filming ‘Wonka,’ the ‘Barbie’ set had already been built, describing the fantasy-comedy’s pink set as “insane and amazing.”
As for ‘Wonka,’ set to release on December 15, Chalamet hinted at the possibility of a sequel, stating, “There is a story to be told. And evidently there is.”
