Combating Challenges PM Kakar Joins Forces with Azerbaijan President on Islamophobia and Climate

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar expressed commitment to addressing global issues like Islamophobia and climate change during a “constructive interaction” with Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev on the sidelines of the 16th Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) Summit in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

PM Kakar highlighted the growing trade, defence, and energy ties between the two nations and emphasized the positive impact of direct AZAL flights on connectivity. During the summit, PM Kakar also held a bilateral meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, discussing the need for finalizing the “Strategic Partnership Agreement” to promote strong intra-regional connectivity.

The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the early completion of the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan railway project and discussed regional developments, including the humanitarian situation in Gaza. PM Kakar is set to address a meeting at the ECO Summit and will proceed to Saudi Arabia for the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s emergency conference on Palestine, aiming to establish humanitarian corridors in Gaza.
