Iran is Russia’s biggest helper in defense matters, US claims
America has claimed that the relations between Russia and Iran are improving and the defense partnership between the two countries is also getting stronger.
US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby has said that Russia is providing military assistance to Iran at an unprecedented level.
America says that it has this report that the two countries are going to produce ‘attack drones’ together.
On the other hand, Australia has banned three people from Iran and an Iranian business saying that they are supplying drones to be used in the Ukraine war.
On Saturday, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong issued a statement saying, “The evidence of Iran’s supply of drones to Russia shows that Iran is endangering global security. It will bear the brunt of it.”
Recently, Ukraine accused Russia of using Iran’s drones to attack its locations. After this, there was a discussion about Iran’s role in the Russia-Ukraine war.
Iran had earlier rejected these accusations, although later it said that it (Iran) had given some weapons to Russia before Russia’s attack on Ukraine.
What did John Kirby say?
John Kirby said, “Iran has become the biggest helper for Russia in military affairs. Since August, Iran has given Russia several hundred drones. With the help of these unmanned aerial weapons, Russia has attacked important structures in Ukraine. and innocent Ukrainian citizens are being killed.”
He said, “After the Russian attack on Ukraine, the supply of drones from Iran to it has increased and they are very helpful in increasing the military capability of Russia. The damage caused to the Ukrainian infrastructure due to these drone attacks is worth millions. “People are not getting electricity, heating facilities in winter and important facilities. In fact, people are dying in Ukraine because of Iran’s actions.”
John Kirby alleged that Russia and Iran have joined hands to produce ‘attack drones’.
Kirby said that Ukraine, Iran’s neighboring countries and the international community may have to face the big consequences of the partnership between the two regarding making drones.
He said, “We think that in the coming months, the help the Russian military is getting from Iran will increase. We also believe that Iran is going to give Russia hundreds of ballistic missiles. We have seen such reports that according to Russia And Iran is joining hands to produce deadly drones and they will be produced in Russia. We appeal to Iran not to follow this path and not to take such steps.”
‘Threat to Global Security’
Kirby said that Russia can join hands with Iran regarding the development of weapons and training for their use. He said that the US fears that Russia “wants to give Iran modern military equipment” including helicopters and air defense systems.
British Foreign Minister James Cleverly has said that Iran has become a big supporter of Russia. He allegedly said that such deals are being made between the two countries which pose a threat to global security.
He said that there have been deals between the two under which Iran has given hundreds of drones to Russia. He said, “In return, Russia is providing military and technical support to the Iranian regime. This has created a threat to our allies in the Middle East and international security.”
He said that he agrees with the US that the relationship between the two countries can be strengthened in the coming months and Iran’s support for the Russian army can also increase. He said that in the near future, Russia may acquire ballistic missiles from Iran.
