According to the BBC, an MP has said that Rajapaksa is expected to return to Sri Lanka. Cabinet spokesman Bandula Gunawardene said on Tuesday that Rajapaksa was not in hiding, but the date of his arrival was not known. The former President had fled the country to the Maldives on July 13 and from there he headed to Singapore on July 14.
