A New Look for Twitter? Speculations Surrounding the Iconic Logo

Following a series of controversial policies that sparked user backlash, Twitter CEO Elon Musk surprised the online community with yet another announcement.

The SpaceX founder expressed his intention to drop the iconic Twitter logo and eventually phase out the beloved birds that have long been associated with the platform.

In a tweet from his official Twitter handle, Musk shared a shimmering image of an X and stated, “If a good enough X logo is posted tonight, we’ll make it go live worldwide tomorrow.” Subsequently, he tweeted, “Soon we shall bid adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds.”

Musk gained control of Twitter last year when he acquired it for a staggering $44 billion and merged it with his X Corp.

However, since his takeover, users have increasingly voiced their dissatisfaction with the platform and Musk’s policies.

One of the first controversial moves was the layoff of several Twitter employees. Musk then stirred further controversy by announcing that Twitter’s verification checkmarks, once free, would be available to users who paid a subscription fee, which excluded some previously verified accounts.

More recently, Musk revealed plans to limit the number of tweets users can see daily, leading to further discontent among Twitter’s user base.
