What Flight Attendants Want You to Know Before Checking into a Hotel
When it comes to traveling, it’s always helpful to learn tips and tricks to make your holidays easier, especially if you don’t travel frequently.
Flight attendants, who spend a significant amount of time traveling and staying in hotel rooms, often have valuable insights to share. Esther, a cabin crew member, recently shared some insider tricks on TikTok, as reported by Mirror.co.uk. She issued a warning for travelers who frequently check into hotels while on holidays.
Esther advised that upon entering a hotel room, it’s a good idea to throw a bottle of water under the bed. The purpose of doing this is to “check that no one is under the bed without looking.”
Why should you do this? If the bottle “doesn’t come out of the other side,” it indicates a need for further investigation. In such a case, you should either call a member of the hotel staff or notify your fellow traveler.
However, if the bottle comes out from the other side of the bed, you can continue with your usual activities without any concerns.
The publication also quoted Demi Bonita, another flight attendant from Spain, who shared a sneaker hack to check if anyone has entered your hotel room while you’re out.
Demi advised her 70,000 TikTok followers to place the “do not disturb” card between the door, allowing you to notice if someone has been in your room.
Furthermore, another crew member mentioned in the publication explained her four key checks whenever she enters a hotel room. These include inspecting areas where people could hide and checking behind doors, curtains, large cabinets, under beds, and box springs.
These tips from experienced flight attendants can offer added peace of mind and enhance your hotel room security during your travels.
