Save the Seas: Jason Momoa Enlists Fans to Rescue ‘Aquaman

Aquaman’s future in the DC Universe appears uncertain, prompting Jason Momoa to implore fans to rally behind the character.

In a candid interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Dune star shared his concerns about the fate of the ‘Sea-king’ hero within the realms of the James Gunn and Peter Safran-led universe.

Momoa acknowledged, “The truth of it is, I mean, if the audience loves it, then there’s a possibility.” Expressing a glimmer of hope for the franchise, he continued, “But right now, I’m like, ‘It’s not looking too good.'”

Reflecting on his deep connection to the character, the Hawaii native conveyed, “I love this character and [I would want to] play it for a long time. I kind of see where I would want it to go.” He added, “And even in the next 10 years or so, like, there’s a lot of cool things they can do. And I do enjoy the role and the world. So, I mean, it just comes down to if people love it.”

Despite his enthusiasm, Jason cast doubt on Aquaman’s future, the character first introduced in the franchise in 2017’s Justice League. “I don’t necessarily want it to be the end… [but] I don’t think it’s really, like, a choice,” he remarked.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is scheduled to hit theaters on Dec. 22, leaving fans on the edge of their seats regarding the iconic hero’s cinematic journey.
