Talking about her, her mother Meena Kaushal says, ‘When she looked at herself in the mirror after getting dressed, it seemed like she would do something. Although she was thin, she was reluctant to take part in such a competition, but due to the hard work of Sargam and his team, she managed to reach this far. It is a matter of pride for us. Sargam has raised the name not only of India but also of us.
Aditi Gowtrikar, former Indian Mrs. World, says about Sargam Kaushal’s pageant, “I was part of the panel that selected the contestants from India for the pageant. I said then that Sargam has the X-factor and said that this time we will definitely win this title.
Sargam Kaushal from India has won the title of Mrs. World 2021-2022 pageant held in Las Vegas, USA.
Sharing the news on his Instagram account, Sargam Kaushal said, ‘The long wait is over. We have got the crown back after 21 years.
“When my daughter was two-and-a-half years old, I found her unusual, her face was unique,” her father GS Kaushal, who lives in Jammu, told the BBC. I wanted her to go to Miss Femina but she was hesitant to participate in any beauty pageant.
Sargam Kaushal studied till 12th standard in Presentation Convent High School Jammu. After that, he completed his B.Sc and post graduation in English Literature from Jammu University. After completing his B.Ed, he started teaching in a school.
Her father said, “I always wanted her to participate in beauty pageants.” In 2017, we married Sargam after which she shifted to Visakhapatnam.
He says that after Sargam’s marriage, I told him to do something now. She moved to Mumbai after Visakhapatnam. Even after that I said, ‘Now you have reached Mayanagari, do something.’ Then he started working to participate in the competition. I would also like to thank Sargum’s husband who has been very supportive.
Sargam Kaushal’s husband is an officer in the Indian Navy.
Sargam Kaushal’s father says, ‘After that, Sargam started preparing and won the title of Mrs India in the year 2022.
Her father says, “Seeing so many candidates at the international level, I thought earlier that Sargam might not win, but her confidence kept me motivated.” 44 candidates were eliminated in the first round. After that, confidence increased somewhat. He received this award in the national costume in the foreign category. After that she got into the top six. After that, my heart rate became fast, which was not taking the name of stopping.
“We were watching it all live on TV and when she came in the top three, don’t ask us how we were,” he says.
Certainty of victory
Sargam Kaushal’s father says, ‘Sargam was asked what would she do if she had the opportunity to make a change on social media, and my daughter confidently replied that she would stop cyberbullying to some extent. After that, when she was selected in the second round, I was sure that Sargam would win now.
Meena Kaushal, Sargam’s mother, told the BBC: ‘You wouldn’t believe that when I was watching on TV, I was 100 per cent sure that she would win. The other contestants in the beauty pageant were definitely prettier and taller than Kaushal, but I had full faith in my daughter. Her husband also said that it was my dream to reach this point and he is very happy.
While India won the title of Mrs. World for the first time in 2001, Aditi Gotrikar said that she found Sargam very polite and cheerful in every meeting.
“When I first met Sargam, she was full of confidence,” she says. However, every girl participating in the training is taught and therefore had a refined personality. His height, body shape, everything was very cute.
She says about her experience that when she thought of going to Mrs. World, no one even knew about it and people only knew about Miss Universe and Miss World because Sushmita Sen and Aishwarya Rai held these titles. Lived.
Aditi Gowtrikar further explains that ‘at that time the environment was such that the way to the world of glamor was closed for a married woman and even if she was in a relationship, she kept it hidden. So it was not acceptable for a married woman to be in acting or modeling as it is today.
Aditi says that she did not find it appropriate to hide her married life and entered the Mrs. World pageant and won.
According to her, ‘When I won, there was awareness in the Indian society and after that many such contests were organized for married women and many married women came to me and told me that participating in Miss India had a dream, but could not participate due to circumstances. But it is good that such competitions are happening because of you.
