Jersey Provides Free Type 2 Diabetes Tests to the Community
Residents in Jersey have the opportunity to undergo a free type 2 diabetes test as part of an awareness week organized by charity Diabetes Jersey.
The initiative, aligned with National Diabetes Week, runs until Saturday and aims to raise awareness about the condition, which affects a new individual every day on the island.
Diabetes Jersey staff emphasized the importance of addressing the condition as it can have severe health consequences if left undetected or neglected, particularly among individuals who are overweight or lead sedentary lifestyles.
Currently, approximately 4,500 people in Jersey are living with diabetes.
The tests are available at Castle Quay Pharmacy, as well as the Co-op Grande Marche stores in St Helier and St Peter.
