Syed Asim Munir will be the next army chief of Pakistan
Pakistan’s Information and Broadcasting Minister Maryam Aurangzeb has announced that Asim Munir will be the country’s next Army Chief. Now the President of Pakistan Asif Alvi will ratify the Prime Minister’s decision.
At present, Lieutenant General Asim Munir is serving as the Quartermaster General in the Pakistan Army.
He was the senior-most among the generals in the fray to become the next Chief of Army Staff.
Interestingly, his lieutenant general’s tenure ends on November 27, two days before the retirement of General Bajwa.
