NEW YORK: Sotheby’s announced on Monday that a collection of six jerseys worn by Lionel Messi during Argentina’s triumphant 2022 World Cup campaign will be up for auction in December, with an estimated value exceeding $10 million.
Messi sported these jerseys during the initial halves of group-stage matches against Saudi Arabia and Mexico, as well as subsequent games against Australia, the Netherlands, and Croatia, culminating in the final against France.
If the jerseys do fetch over $10 million, this sale could potentially become the most valuable collection of sports memorabilia ever auctioned, as stated by Sotheby’s.
