T20 World Cup: Pakistan beat Bangladesh to reach the semi-finals, Holland showed the work

Pakistan’s cricket team had not even entered the field for their final group match when their hopes of reaching the semi-finals were dashed by the Netherlands, who created a stir by defeating the much larger South African team by 13 runs at the Adelaide Oval.

Holland has mastered the art of upsets in the T20 World Cup. Earlier they had defeated England twice.

The South African team has once again proved that they go astray in ICC events, that’s why they are called chokers.

After this memorable win by Holland, it became imperative for the Pakistani cricket team to beat Bangladesh to enter the semi-finals and this time they won by 5 wickets without making any mistakes and made it to the last four teams.

Happy memories from Adelaide The Adelaide ground once again brought good news for the Pakistani team. This is the same ground where the fortunes of the Pakistani team changed in the 1992 World Cup.

Against England she was dismissed for only 74 runs but due to rain both teams got one point each and this one point took her ahead and now after thirty years the Pakistani team has taken a turning point from this ground.

Shaheen’s career best bowling Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and decided to bat first and the Bangladesh team reached 127 runs for 8 wickets. The Pakistani team entered the field with the same eleven players that won the important match against South Africa.

Bangladeshi openers Najamul Hussain and Latin Das have played their best innings in the same tournament. The experiment of trying Liton Das as an opener was successful in the match against India.

He looked in aggressive mood against Shaheen Shah Afridi as well but Afridi’s experience showed him the way back with the help of Shan Masood and he could only score 10 runs this time.

Najamul Hussain and Soumya Sarkar scored thirteen runs in Mohammad Wasim’s first over but Shadab Khan failed to catch Najamul Hussain in this over.

Bangladesh scored 40 runs for the loss of one wicket in the power play. Najamul Hussain and Soumya Sarkar’s partnership of 52 runs was ended by Shadab Khan who was caught by Shaan Masood for 20 runs.

The biggest blow for Bangladesh was skipper Shakib Al Hasan’s first ball lbw off Shadab Khan. When the umpire gave him out, Shakibul Hasan immediately took a review but the third umpire upheld the decision. Shakib-ul-Hasan was not satisfied with this decision and was not ready to leave the ground, but according to the decision of the third umpire, the ball was not hit by the bat but was hit on the ground due to which a mark was shown on the score meter.

Afif Hussain stopped Shadab Khan from a hat-trick. Shadab Khan ended his four overs on 30 runs with two out.

Najamul Hussain completed his second half-century in this tournament but was bowled by Iftikhar Ahmed’s off-spin on 54 runs. Bangladesh’s fourth wicket fell on 91 runs.

Iftikhar Ahmed kept his grip on the ball tight and kept the Bangladeshi batsmen tied and conceded just 15 runs for one wicket in his three overs.

Effective bowling by Shadab Khan and Iftikhar Ahmed played a vital role in keeping the score down in the middle overs. Both of them scored only 45 runs in seven overs and they also got 3 wickets in return.

Shaheen Shah Afridi returned in his second spell and managed to get Mossadegh Hussain bowled and Noorul Hasan caught by Mohammad Haris in the third over with a yorker. He got his fourth wicket through the catch of Babar Azam off Tasin Ahmed.

Shaheen Shah Afridi has taken four wickets by giving 22 runs which is his best bowling in T20I.

Earlier, his best bowling was three days ago against South Africa in which he gave 14 runs and dismissed 3 players.

A habit of making an easy target difficult
In the very first over of the Pakistani innings, the heart beat became faster and started to sit down. Rizwan hit Tasin Ahmad for a six and on the very next ball he escaped being caught by wicketkeeper Noorul Hasan.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Rizwan and Babar Azam managed to establish their biggest opening partnership of 57 runs in this tournament. Earlier in this tournament, the highest partnership between the two was just 16 runs.

Babar Azam definitely broke the status quo of not getting out of the single figure but by scoring 25 runs off 33 balls, he could not save his wicket against Nisoom Ahmed.

Rizwan Ahmed also lost his wicket to the ball of Ibadat Hussain on the score with only four runs added. He scored 32 runs off the same number of balls.

Pakistan scored only 56 runs for two wickets at the end of 10 overs. Mohammad Nawaz Najamul Hasan’s run out on the throw narrowly missed the ball but this mistake cost the Pakistani team dearly for the second time.

He was run out after scoring only 11 runs on the throw of Latin Das. Haris tried to reduce the anxiety of the Pakistani team in the dugout by hitting Ibadah Hussain for a four and a six in the same over, after which he also sent the ball of Tasin Ahmad outside the boundary.

He got out after playing an important innings of 31 runs off only eighteen balls with the help of one four and two sixes, the victory was only 7 runs away.

Shan Masood’s two fours in one over of Shakib-ul-Hasan proved to be oxygen for the Pakistani team, but before reaching the target, the Pakistani team also had to lose the wicket of Iftikhar Ahmed.

When the Pakistani team reached the required score, eleven balls remained.
