Hurricane Julia has wreaked havoc in America. So far 25 people have died due to this. Guatemala and El Salvador received torrential rains on Monday due to the influence of Julia. Meteorologists say that this storm has turned into a tropical pressure.
Guatemala’s disaster relief agency said five people were killed when a house collapsed on a hill in Alta Verapaz province. Officials in El Salvador said a wall of a house collapsed in the city of Comasagua, killing five Salvadoran army soldiers. These people had taken shelter here.
Heavy rain also caused damage
Two other people were killed in the eastern El Salvador city of Guatajiagua after a wall of their house collapsed due to heavy rain. In El Salvador, another person died of electrocution, while another person died after a tree fell on it. Many more such incidents have come to the fore due to the storm.
Hundreds of people were rescued
There are also reports of several people getting injured as Julia was hit by storm and heavy rain. Schools have been closed in Guatemala and El Salvador. Hundreds of people have been shifted to safer places. About 300 people have been rescued near Costa Rica. A 4-year-old child and a woman are reported to have died after a boat capsized near the Nicaragua border.
