HIV-Hepatitis Patients Using As Weapon? Sick prisoners are being recruited in Putin’s private army
President Vladimir Putin would not have expected the kind of resistance Russia is facing in the Ukraine war. It was believed that Russia would take over Ukraine in a few days, but it did not happen. New twists are coming in this fight every day. It is reported that Putin’s private army (Wegner Group) is recruiting patients with HIV and hepatitis C, who are preparing to be sent to the war in Ukraine.
It is reported from the Ministry of Defense of Britain that these patients admitted to the private army are Russian prisoners. The UK’s Defense Ministry says recruitment standards in the Wegener Group were very high in previous battles. Many of its operators have worked as professional soldiers. Now sick prisoners are being recruited. It is clear from this that what is being given priority over experience and quality.
‘More than 100 prisoners recruited in private army’
More than 100 prisoners have been recruited in Vladimir Putin’s private army. A colorful bracelet is being worn to identify them. Ukraine’s military intelligence says it has spread fear among other Russian soldiers. In media reports, such soldiers are being kept separate from other soldiers. They are being prevented from mingling with ‘ordinary soldiers’.
Russia lagging behind in war: Ukrainian officials
Talking about the war, Russia has accused Ukraine of carrying out drone strikes on the headquarters of the Russian fleet in the Black Sea near Crimea. Russian officials said the strikes were carried out by nine aerial and nine sea drones. One battleship was destroyed in these attacks on the city of Sivastopol. It is known that Sivastopal is the largest city in Crimea, which Russia took over by Ukraine in 2014.
Russia suspends grain deal with Ukraine
At the same time, Russia has suspended the UN-mediated grain export agreement. The deal resulted in the export of more than 90 million tonnes of grain from Ukraine and brought down food prices globally. Moscow has blamed Ukraine’s drone strikes on Russian Black Sea Fleet ships in the Crimean peninsula for the move. However, Ukraine has denied the attack.
