The Mysterious Whereabouts of Vladimir Putin: Speculations and Claims
Former commander of separatist forces in Ukraine’s Donbas region, Igor Girkin, also known as Strelkov, has openly criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin and compared him to an Egyptian mummy. Girkin gained prominence after 2014 and has been vocal in his condemnation of the Russian military’s actions in Ukraine.
A video surfaced on social media, tweeted by Ukrainian internal affairs adviser Anton Gerashchenko, showing Girkin reading out a question about Putin breaking his promise not to harm Ukrainian President Zelensky.
Girkin smirkingly questioned Putin’s existence based on his behavior, stating, “Is there Putin at all?”
He expressed astonishment at the supreme commander-in-chief’s absence from the war and criticized the infighting among Putin’s inner circle, which undermined the stability of the front without any reaction from Putin himself.
Girkin wondered about Putin’s whereabouts, highlighting Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov’s constant claims of being kept informed. He sarcastically remarked that one could report to mummies, implying that Putin’s silence resembled that of a mummy.
Girkin concluded by stating that this behavior was indicative of the supreme commander-in-chief in their country.
Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin announced that Ukraine’s anticipated counteroffensive had begun but claimed that Kyiv had not achieved its objectives in any combat area. However, Ukrainian forces reported advancements on parts of the frontline near Bakhmut.
