Mayweather vs. Gotti III Exhibition Fight Ends in Chaotic Brawl
Floyd Mayweather’s exhibition fight against John Gotti III took an unexpected turn as a mass brawl erupted following the referee’s premature end to the bout. Mayweather, known for his undefeated 50-0 professional boxing record, has been participating in exhibition matches since his retirement in 2017. This time, he faced John Gotti III, the grandson of notorious crime boss John Gotti, in Sunrise, Florida.
Trash-talking between the fighters began early in the ring, with Mayweather showcasing his superior skills and taunting his opponent. In response, Gotti III resorted to rough tactics, including clinching and headlocks. Referee Kenny Bayliss issued warnings to both fighters for their use of abusive language.
In the sixth round, Bayliss halted the fight, but Gotti III, who entered the professional boxing scene last year, disregarded his disqualification and continued trying to throw punches at Mayweather. This defiance triggered a chaotic brawl, with members from both teams jumping into the ring.
Gotti III found himself cornered by numerous individuals, while Mayweather, wearing a smile, observed the commotion from the opposite top rope. Videos captured the fighting spilling over backstage at the FLA Live Arena, involving entourages from both camps.
In a YouTube video posted after the fight, Mayweather boasted, “That’s why they pay the big bucks because I put on a show.” On his Instagram story, Gotti III declared Mayweather as his “enemy for life,” emphasizing that Mayweather never managed to knock him down or stop him.
