T20 World Cup Semi-Final: In England Final, Indian Team Shamelessly Defeated by 10 Wickets

England has secured a place in the final after winning the second semi-final against India by 10 wickets.

England will face Pakistan in the final match to be played on November 13 in Melbourne.

India had set a challenge of 169 runs for victory in front of England. Opener Alex Hales and captain Jos Buttler kept this goal modest through a record partnership for the first wicket.

None of India’s bowlers could affect England’s batsmen. England won the match with 24 balls to spare. Captain Butler (80 runs, 49 balls) and Hales (86 runs, 47 balls) both scored half-centuries. Hales was selected as Man of the Match.

On the pitch where the English batsmen crushed the Indian bowlers, the Indian batsmen kept longing to score runs.

Opener KL Rahul (5 runs), Suryakumar Yadav (14 runs) and captain Rohit Sharma (27 runs) failed. Virat Kohli (50 runs) showed the spirit to fight on his favorite ground but scoring runs was not easy for him either.

Hardik Pandya took India to 168 runs (63 runs) but this score proved insufficient to stop England.

Jos Buttler hit Bhuvneshwar Kumar for three fours in the very first over. A total of 13 runs were scored in the first over. Alex Hales hit a six in Bhubaneswar’s second over. 12 runs were scored in this over. After three overs, England scored 33 runs.

Captain Rohit Sharma handed the ball to Akshar Patel in the fourth over. Buttler hit a four on his first ball. England’s opening pair added 41 runs in four overs.

In the fifth over, Mohammad Shami, who came to the front of the bowling, could not stop the pace of runs. Hales hit a six and a four in this over. After five overs, England had scored 52 runs.

Before this, India’s top order batsmen were kept tied by England’s bowlers. After the fast bowlers, England’s spinners also did not allow the Indian batsmen to score runs quickly. India scored 168 runs for six wickets in 20 overs.

Top order batsmen could not make big scores in important matches. Hardik Pandya, who is famous for making big hits, also had trouble hitting boundaries in the beginning, but later he opened his hands and managed to hit five sixes. India collected 68 runs in the last five overs. Hardik was hit wicket on the last ball. He scored 63 runs.

How much England’s spinners dominated the Indian top order can be easily estimated by looking at Adil Rashid’s figures. Rashid gave only 20 runs in four overs and got the wicket of Suryakumar Yadav.

England’s fast bowlers also made good use of yorkers and length balls. Chris Jordan took three wickets for 43 runs for England.

Bad start England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and elected to bowl. India did not start well. Opener KL Rahul hit a boundary on the very first ball of the match but he could not play a big innings. In the second over, he took a catch in the hands of England’s keeper captain Jos Buttler on the ball of Chris Woakes. He got out after scoring five runs in five balls. When the first wicket fell, India’s score was nine runs.

After this, captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli added 47 runs off 43 balls for the second wicket.

England’s bowlers kept the Indian batsmen tied, especially captain Rohit Sharma. He also got some life support.

Virat Kohli opened his arms in the fourth over and sent Chris Woakes’ first ball over the covers boundary for six runs. 10 runs were scored in this over.

In the fifth over, Rohit Sharma targeted Sam Karan. He hit two consecutive fours. On the next ball, Rohit played towards backward point, but Brooke, who was standing there, could not take the catch.

After the fifth over, India’s score was 31 runs for one wicket.

In the sixth over, Adil came to bowl Rashid. Rohit Sharma hit a four on the first ball. On the last ball of this over, Rashid had a chance to send Rohit Sharma to the pavilion but he could not reach the ball.

After six overs of power play, India’s score was 38 runs for one wicket. In the seventh over, Liam Livingstone came to the bowling front. Virat Kohli hit a boundary in this over. A total of eight runs came to the account of the team. 50 runs of the Indian innings were completed in the eighth over.

In the ninth over, Chris Jordan came to the bowling front. Rohit Sharma sent the second ball of the over for four runs outside the cover boundary. After two balls, Jordan caught him by Sam Curran. Rohit Sharma scored 28 runs in 27 balls. When the second wicket fell, India’s score was 56 runs.

After ten overs, India’s score was 62 runs for two wickets.

Suryakumar Yadav Fail India had the highest expectations from 360 degree batsman Suryakumar Yadav. He came to the crease in the ninth over.

Suryakumar Yadav could not find the boundary for the first seven balls of his innings. He sent the eighth ball outside the fine leg boundary for six runs. The bowler was Chris Woakes.

He hit a four on the next ball. In the next over, Suryakumar Yadav was caught in the hands of Phil Salt while trying to play a big shot on Adil Rashid’s ball. He could only score 14 runs off ten balls.

Hardik Pandya, who came to replace him, was also seen struggling to score runs. He hit the first boundary on the 10th ball of his innings. This was the 15th over of the Indian innings. Virat Kohli took India’s score to 100 runs by hitting a four on the last ball of this over.

Rishabh Pant opened the account by hitting Sam Karan for a four. In this over, Hardik Pandya completed his half century by collecting a six and two fours. He played just 29 balls to reach 50 runs.

Rishabh Pant (6 runs) was run out in the last over. Hardik Pandya hit a four and a six in the last over. But he became a hit wicket on the last ball. He scored 63 runs with the help of four fours and five sixes. With the help of his innings, the Indian team managed to reach 168 runs.
