Young Talents Shine: Pakistan Secures Eight-Wicket Win Against India in U-19 Asia Cup
Pakistan’s Azan Awais led an outstanding performance, securing an unbeaten century to chase down the 260-run target set by India in the fifth match of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Under-19s Asia Cup at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai on Sunday.
India, with late scoring from Sachin Dhas, had set a challenging target of 260 runs. However, Pakistan confidently achieved the target in 47 overs with eight wickets in hand, highlighted by a remarkable 110-run partnership between Shahzaib Khan and Azan Awais.
The Green Shirts made a strong start as Amir Hassan and Mohammad Zeeshan took two early wickets, leaving India at 46-2 in just 11.2 overs. Despite a promising 93-run partnership between opener Adarsh Singh and skipper Uday Saharan, Pakistan continued to take wickets at crucial moments.
Singh contributed 62 runs off 81 balls before being dismissed by Arafat Minhas. Uday Saharan held the innings together with a valuable 60-run knock, but his departure at the hands of Ubaid Shah left India at 206-6 in 42.5 overs.
Sachin Dhas played a crucial role, scoring a quick 58 off 32 balls, taking India to a competitive total of 260 runs with two fours and three sixes.
Pakistan’s Mohammad Zeeshan stood out with four wickets, while Amir Hassan and Ubaid Shah claimed two wickets each.
Having won the toss, Pakistan opted to bowl first, setting the stage for their successful run chase.
