Inside the Battle Mark Zuckerberg’s Fight Preparations Cause Strain with Priscilla Chan
In preparation for his highly anticipated mixed martial arts (MMA) showdown with fellow tech titan Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg appears to be ruffling some feathers with his wife, as evidenced by a shared screenshot of their WhatsApp conversation on his social media.
In a bid to elevate his MMA training regimen, the Facebook founder, who is a fervent admirer of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), took an audacious step by transforming his garden. He uprooted the grass to create a dedicated octagon fighting ring.
However, it appears that Zuckerberg might have undertaken this transformation without the prior approval of his wife, Priscilla Chan. Her reaction was far from delighted when he broached the subject of the newly installed octagon in their garden.
Earlier this week, Zuckerberg revealed a snippet of his WhatsApp chat with his wife. In the exchange, he excitedly commented on the octagon, stating, “It looks awesome.” He went on to say, “We have plenty of yard space!”
Yet, Chan’s response conveyed no trace of amusement. She succinctly replied, “I have been working on that grass for two years.”
Following this exchange, Zuckerberg took to Instagram, sharing the screenshot and posing a question to his followers: “Should I keep the octagon?” or “Save the grass?”
In his journey towards a potential celebrity billionaire bout with Elon Musk, Zuckerberg has been diligently training alongside UFC stars Alexander Volkanovski and Israel Adesanya. Notably, Brazilian jiu-jitsu expert Gilbert Burns extended an invitation to join a session in the garden-turned-octagon, to which Zuckerberg displayed keen interest.
Meanwhile, Elon Musk, the prospective adversary, has been refining his skills under the guidance of retired legend Georges St-Pierre.
Dana White, the head of the UFC, envisions bringing the fight between these social media moguls to fruition. He remarked, “This would be the biggest fight ever in the history of the world, bigger than anything that’s ever been done. It would break all pay-per-view records.”
When queried about the likelihood of the showdown, White emphasized, “Zuckerberg takes this very seriously, man.”
