Ronaldo Silences Retirement Rumors with a Strong Statement

Ronaldo played a pivotal role in Al-Nassr’s 4-1 victory against Al-Riyadh, furthering their quest for the top spot in the Saudi Pro League 2023/24.

Celebrating his 1,200th professional career game, the 38-year-old notched a goal and provided an assist for Al-Nassr. In the 31st minute, he tapped in Sadio Mane’s cross to break the deadlock, and just before halftime, he set up Otavio with a precise cross, leading to a headed goal.

Ronaldo’s remarkable longevity reached new heights as the five-time Ballon d’Or winner reached the milestone of 1,200 games. Despite his extensive career spanning 21 years since his professional debut with Sporting CP in 2002, Ronaldo has no plans to retire soon and expressed his gratitude on Instagram: “Three more points! Thankful to all my teammates who helped me reach my 1200th match. What a ride, but we’re not done yet.”

Approaching his 39th birthday on February 5, Ronaldo remains unstoppable, having scored 49 goals this year, just one less than Erling Haaland with 50.

Having competed against legends like Lionel Messi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Luis Suarez in his earlier years, Ronaldo now faces the stars of the new generation such as Haaland and Kylian Mbappe. Throughout his illustrious career, Ronaldo has played for top-tier clubs like Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus, leaving an indelible mark and achieving legendary status.

During his tenure with Real Madrid, Ronaldo played 438 matches, scoring an impressive 450 goals—an achievement likely to stand as an unbeatable record—and providing 131 assists. In two stints with Manchester United, he scored 145 goals and provided 64 assists.

Over his 21-year career, Ronaldo secured the Ballon d’Or five times and won the UEFA Champions League multiple times, solidifying his place as one of football’s all-time greats.
