At 29, Timothée Chalamet won his first SAG Award for Best Actor for portraying Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown. This marks his first win after three prior nominations. He is now the youngest winner in this category, breaking Nicolas Cage’s record from 1995 (Leaving Las Vegas).
During his speech, Chalamet expressed his ambition, saying, “I want to be one of the greats. I’m inspired by Daniel Day-Lewis, Marlon Brando, and Viola Davis. This award is just fuel to keep going.”
Chalamet dedicated five and a half years to preparing for the role. He thanked his mother and the film’s cast and crew, acknowledging the hard work behind bringing Dylan’s story to life.
Demi Moore’s Emotional First SAG Win
Demi Moore won Best Actress for her role in The Substance, marking her first SAG Award. The actress, who received her SAG membership at 15, reflected on how it shaped her career.
“I was a kid with no direction, but this community became my greatest teacher. I’m so grateful to still be here, trying, succeeding, and sometimes failing, but always moving forward,” Moore shared in her heartfelt speech.
Her win adds to an incredible awards season, following victories at the Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice Awards. She is also nominated for an Oscar, set to take place on March 2.
Jane Fonda’s Lifetime Achievement Award
