Although it is a gift from China, but it is cultivated in other places as well. In India it is found from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh to Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. Its taste varies slightly according to the place. Although each fruit has its own specialty, but the history of mulberry is very interesting as well as it has many benefits.

Mulberry was cultivated earlier only for the production of silk i.e. silk. Silkworms used to feed on mulberry leaves and produce silk from which silk is made. It was started from China, so mulberry can also be called China’s gift.
