ICC World Cup 2023: Schedule and Venues Unveiled for the Tournament in India
The upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is set to kick off tentatively from October 5 to November 19. Ten teams will compete for the prestigious trophy in India, with a total of 48 matches scheduled across twelve cities.
The opening match between England and New Zealand, as well as the final on November 19, will take place in Ahmedabad. While the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to release an official statement regarding the dates and venues, insiders close to the organization have revealed the cities that will host the esteemed tournament later this year.

According to reports, the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 will be hosted in twelve cities across India. The selected cities include Kolkata, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Indore, Dharamshala, Guwahati, Raipur, Rajkot, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad. However, there is a possibility of changes if required. Among these twelve cities, only six (Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, and Bangalore) were host cities for the previous ODI World Cup in 2011.

Mohali and Nagpur Excluded from Hosting World Cup 2023 Matches:
Despite hosting World Cup matches in 2011, Mohali and Nagpur have been excluded from hosting matches in the upcoming World Cup. With twelve venues selected for this season, it is expected that almost all of them will host at least one India match, as the team is scheduled to play nine group stage matches.
Pakistan to Play in Four Cities:
The BCCI has organized Pakistan’s World Cup matches to be held in four venues: Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Chennai. The board specifically chose South Indian cities to host these matches, with Chennai receiving special attention due to its reputation for having peaceful crowds. This decision was made in light of Pakistan’s upcoming visit to India for the tournament.
